Biography | |
Anna and Janusz Olszewski are graduates of Art Academy of Warsaw with diplomas gained in 1971. Their domain is landscape painting. Their artworks are usually created en plein air. Over more than 35 years of professional career, the couple has exhibited their paintings world-wide, mainly in Europe but also in the USA, Singapore and New Zealand. In Japan alone about thousand of their artworks have been sold. The OlszewskisÂ’ works can be found in numerous museums, some Polish diplomatic posts and private collections. Their paintings reflect the best quality of contemporary Polish landscape medium.
Being the best postimpressionists and colourists, they have been skillfully playing with colours, making them tame and friendly.
Anna often described as the First Lady of Polish landscape painting, charms viewers with romantic representations of sunset sceneries. Janusz is a master of seascape in which portrayed boats stretching along the shore reflect the rules and sophistication of the 19th century French school of painters. It is also characteristic of whatever the couple decides to transfer from reality to pictures. They are a perfect example of the belief that coexisting with the art of the landscape is a psychological experience of play of picture and imagination. |
