Theme of paintings
Figure drawing as a theme has always appealed and inspired the artist in me. Each human figure has a hidden language and each gesture narrates a story of its own with an effective climax.
Each figure articulates different expressions and postures on experiencing different feelings.
This juxtaposition of shape and form with communication and action is the theme of my paintings.
Inspiration
Indian miniature paintings
The influence of miniature paintings has loosened the ties of my paintings from reality letting them float party in illusory space. Whimsical eyes, faces soaked in eloquence; sensual postures are few characteristics of miniature paintings that reflect on my style.
Indian folk-lore
My fondness for Indian folk-lore is visible through the vibrant color palette and traditional patterns with symbolic meaning in Indian art and culture.
Impressionism and expressionism
A slight shift from reality and detailing, visual exaggeration, animated brush strokes fostering unpredictability and impulsiveness depicts the beneficent influence expressionism and impressionism has on me.
Profession
I am currently working as a Manager visual domain in one of the software development company in New Delhi. The profession helps me keep abreast with latest technology and overcome the boundaries of a canvas.
As a cartoonist and an animator Ive come to realize that exaggeration helps in identifying distinctiveness in form or action.
My experience as an illustrator in the multimedia industry has encouraged me to take challenges and experiment with combinations of different mediums.
