| Barbara Anne Applegate, is a self taught artist, starting her painting career in the late 1960's by 1997, I started painting with oils then moved to acrylics and decorative art. And now I have come full circle, In Barbara's artwork, you will find her most comfortable painting animals, landscapes and seascapes with flair of the southwest where I grew up. Barbara was born in Texas, raised in New Mexico, she has lived in Oregon since 1981 so she paints with a well rounded experience of having lived in various parts of the country, it gives her a familiarity with nature of those areas .Barbara's art is a reflection of who she is, and what makes her tick., she offers unique original oil paintings, and limited edition prints from the pallet of Award Winning Artist, Barbara's compositions with her use light and color that have attracted private collectors. Although, a self taught artist, her approach to art is of places remembered from her youth, a fond memory of animals and children, fuzzy puppy kisses, the whinny of a horse, meow of a cat, the feeling of sun on your face on a summer day. |
