Biography | |
Bill Childs has been an artist and teacher in southern New Hampshire for over forty years. A native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and a student of Vernon Coleman, he is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and the University of New Hampshire. His primary medium traditionally is watercolor although he has worked extensively in pen and ink as well as a series of monotypes and mixed media images. Currently he is working with landscapes using a more subjective and experimental approach to color. His subjects range from the costal marshes to rural interior settings. As an art instructor Childs has taught at every level from preschool to undergraduate level and in private instruction with adult groups. Retired from teaching in 1996 he now devotes his time to painting. |
