Biography
I am an award winning artist of the rare art form known as scherenschnitte. Scherenschnitte is the art of papercutting from German and Swiss origin dating back to the fourteenth century. In college, I met a German-American woman who introduced me to the art and I immediately fell in love with the beauty and challenge of it. Every piece that I have created and entered into competition has won first place, best in show, or both. Each piece is created using only one solid piece of paper that remains intact. I create each original piece completely by hand from the design to the very last cut. I love the challenge of working with black and the abscence of it with only one piece of paper. Each piece is completely one of a kind and will never be duplicated. Currently I reside in Ohio with my husband.
