| Biography | |
Bruce Bates grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida.
Since early childhood Bruce has had a passion for drawing and painting, and has always enjoyed sketching and painting the people and places around him.
His favorite mediums are oils, acrylics, and charcoal, but he continues to experiment with new materials and techniques. He uses a number of unique methods in the creation of his artwork that he has personally developed over the years through experimentation.
Bruce has exhibited at the Norton Art Gallery in West Palm Beach; The Flagler Museum in Flagler Beach; The Artist's Gallery in Bunnell; The Saint Augustine Art Association in St. Augustine; and the 621 Gallery in Tallahassee, Florida.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. |
