I live and work in the heart of the beautiful Midlands of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, in the Lions River Valley. I was born in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and Raised in Nothern Rhodesia (Zambia).
I am a self taught artist, taking up Oil painting 7 years ago and I have attended workshops with various local artists in out area.
I enjoy photography so I paint from life if possible and finish off or paint mostly from my own photography and other reference.
I enjoy doing African people as I travel into Zambia and Mozambique
I enjoy "Digital Art" and manipulate photos, particularly flowers and have these printed onto fine canvas with archival ink. I have produced my "!ST IRIS COLLECTION"
I was inspired by the beautiful irises growing in abundance on my neighbours iris farm. Very early one clear spring morning I photographed the beautiful blossoms at their best, before the heat of the day faded and wilted them.
I have applied a soft paint effect to these photograps to enhance their beauty and soft grace.
I have had these produced on a fine quality canvas with archival ink.
