| Debrah Ovitt was born and raised in the Claremont, Croyden area of New Hampshire. As a child she was creative, always drawing or crafting something. In the 1980's, being a young married woman with her first of four children, she became interested in painting by watching a popular painting series on television. She started with painting landscapes and family portraits. Over the next twenty-one years, she painted as often as time would allow her, while raising her children and working. In 2002, she found a renewed interest in painting. By admiring the work of other artists and appreciating the aspects of both nature and life, she started focusing on her artwork more, receiving guidance from her family and friends. She now resides in Claremont, New Hampshire, signing her paintings and honoring her maiden name, while raising her last two children. Debrah's artwork has been displayed at The Gallery on the Square, a prestigious art gallery located in Claremont, New Hampshire. She specializes in reinterpreting personal photographs with acrylic paint. |
