Biography | |
David Segel is an internationally acclaimed and respected artist. After studying at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, and the Art Institute of Chicago, David moved to Paris to work and teach, and began what would be a prolific career.
He has been shown in galleries from Paris, France, to Los Angeles, California, including the Whitney Museum in New York City.
His passion for art surfaced in a collection of mediums: Oils, bronze and wood sculptures, and dramatic sketches. Over the years, countless art lovers have added Segel's work to their collections, including Stevie Nicks, Barbra Streisand, and the Whitney Museum itself.
His art has won many awards, including the First Carnegie Prize and the Hallmark International Art Award. David Segel died in Venice, California, in 2005 at the age of 84. A selected collection of his work is being made available for sale. A portion of all proceeds will go to fund art scholarships. |
