Denita realised if she was to follow her dream of becoming an artist, Auckland was not the place to be, so she packed up her stuff and moved to Rotorua and painted full time. 3 years later she moved to Wanganui to be close to her family and old friends and by chance she found a great building to open a working studio and a pretty dam nice man as well.
Denita loves to learn it has shaped her life tremendously she has held many positions working in the hairdressing industry, film, retail, It, hospitality, Media and the art industry.
Denita's love of the arts has had an amazing journey. Denita established The Paint Pit and Quayhole Gallery for the art community in Wanganui, artistÂ’s nation and worldwide have used the space. Her goal was to provide a safe environment for people alike to come freely to exhibit and create work with the exchange of support, kindness and knowledge.
Denita is a prolific artist and has produced hundreds of pieces of work. She adopts and leases her pieces out to people all over the world.
Her main medium to work with is paint and she loves photography, sculpture, glass, print making, drawing and is always keen to learn new skills.
Denita's creative influences are Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Pacific culture, people, colour, textures, nature, love, music, friends, and her faith and spiritual connection.
Also a collector of art she has over 20 pieces in her personal collection of art that has taken her eye over the years.
