| Biography | |
I live in west Wales with my 2 children, dog and cat. I graduated from Aberystwyth school of Art in July 2006 and have since had 4 exhibitions of drawings and paintings. Inspiration for my work derives from nature in the local area, mainly the Rheidol Valley. I am attracted to the variable shapes of flora, fauna, nuts, berries and brambles. Through the chaos of repetative patterns found in hedgerows and the forest bed I select shape and form. Colour can be a powerful tool with the ability to affect the viewer psycologically and emotionally. Through playing with colour I hope to create an intense, phantasmal vision of a landscape.
When I think of a colour I often relate it to a food, smell or material. The combinations can be endlessly exciting. I hope my work brings colour and vibrancy to the environment in which they are situated. |
