Jessie Saum was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida going on to graduate from Lakeland High School
where he was first exposed to art in a senior year elective. It was then it became clear to him this was the driving force for self expression; so the quest for knowledge about materials, their abilities and limitations had begun.
Early projects were created from raw materials including steel, which was twisted into abstract sculptures such as "The Fish" and "The Three Platues." Projects later become more refined with the introduction of new mediums like fiberglass, acrylics, aluminum, and hybrid composites to name a few. These materials birthed many new ideas from the inventive artist that made solving structural and engineering problems much easier.
Having lived in Cocoa Beach for the last fifteen years, Jessie has been able to hone in on his art skills and create a network full of possibilities. Being more focused than ever, Jessie has been able to construct anything as simple as a few flowers made from copper to the complexity of a moch-up time machine (for Royal Caribbean cruise line) assembled from found objects.
Established in 2001, Empeller Steel Worx was created to customize new designs and fabrications of metalwork. We are capable of a wide range of looks and finishes based upon customer specifications. Finishes are only limited by your imagination and creativity. We can design a custom piece of work using details through the customers vision and/or we can fabricate your work from spec drawings. Whether you are looking for that unique piece for your storefront or want to bring abstract into your home, no project is too big or too small.
