Born at the 2.11.1952 - on a Sunday - he spent his childhood in Höhnhart - Upper-Austria -, he attended the high school in Ried im Innkreis.
There, Mrs. Prof. Emmy Woitsch discovered his creative talent, his excellent fine-motor skills and his special ability to look behind the surface.
After gradution he went to the academy of fine arts in Vienna.
There, he learned the technical prerequisites the pictures and the composition. His stay in the master-class of Mrs. Prof. Matejka was marked from different opinions over the way becoming an artist; Mrs. Prof. Matejka had to remain.
His first exhibition he had in 1979.
Some will now believe to have learned much about Heinrich Wagner.
He negates that a curriculum vitae explains a human being.
He claims naughtily that the enumeration of data and facts has exactly the value, which the person receives as wage, who writes it down.
Therefore, I stop at this point!

With the medium color I found a way to shape my own world.
From the view of the without exception well-meaning critics, this world is fantastic, surreal depth-psychological, ironical, grotesque, clever, angry - in each case tension-loaded like the man, who has created it. The pictures themselves according to the expert-opinion - reminded of classic medieval panel paintings, with much love to the detail and unbelievable brightness. That on the other hand originates through Heinrich Wagners preferred technique of painting: Layer for layer, he puts different colors on the canvas, that yield exactly the tone, that he had in the head from the beginning. |
