After earning a Bachelors degree in Art and Design from Oxford and Cambridge, Jacqueline moved to the United States and received an apprenticeship with commercial artist Michael Cacy. It was with this experience that she learned both commercial illustration as well as the business art.
With ten years experience in art, Jacqueline has worked with advertising agencies doing commercial story boarding, illustration and private fine art commissions for clients in both Seattle and California.
Once I discovered the airbrush I knew there was no turning back, I threw away my brushes as I knew they could never achieve the high quality paintings that I can now produce.
Jacquelines fine art has both a surreal and realistic quality, and is very dynamic and colorful. The airbrush gives an extreme precision finish and requires discipline and years of experience. The airbrush works by spraying a fine mist, released by a high pressure of 40dpi through an airbrush gun (which looks like a silver pen). The pressure is created by a compressor, which produces air. This spray-using the airbrush- can produce a fine line as wide as a cm up to almost 40-60 inches. The airbrush Jacqueline uses is the Iwata Eclipse, which is produced in Japan.
Using such a high precision tool gives Jacqueline the ability to produce such vibrant and highly detailed work. I love using the airbrush, and I am sure that I will enjoy many years using this medium.
Jacqueline has appeared in Airbrush Action magazine . Jacqueline's art work appeared in the 2008 MusiCares charity auction and tribute book. Honoring Aretha Franklin at the 50th Grammy Awards, on February 8th 2008. |
