Biography | |
When John was in Elementary School at the age of 10, he learned and enjoyed making Straight Line Drawings. The drawing started out as John puts it SIMPLE stars and other basic geometric shapes.
In the following years while in High School John found he not only had a knack for drawing but also enjoyed the challenge of making more complex patterns. As his High School years were coming to an end, he noticed a board that had nails in it with copper wire strung on them in a shape that appeared to resemble a comet.
That was all it took for John, he began making his own patterns and shapes hammering nails into wood of different sizes. The solid color of copper just wasnt impressive enough for John, although the work he was doing was spectacular he felt that with color his work would look much more elegant. So for color he started using thread.
While in the Military John made the String Art that he was able to sell at the local Flea Market, the money he was able to make saved him from going hungry.
In 1975 after serving 4 years in the Military John was out of the service. For reasons forgotten his outstanding talent and captivating String Art designs were stopped.
Then a few months before Christmas 2003 he asked his daughter for her wish list, without any hesitation she said String Art like the ones you used to make He started thinking and then out came the paper and drawing after drawing he found myself enjoying and creating String Art all over again. John has since found most anyone that sees his work has to own one or more.
Please feel free to browse through Johns current inventory, He is open to special requests but doesnt do animals, as he is never satisfied with the results.
You name the colors, hell do the design, as there arent any two the same each has its own look and style. |
