I've dabbled with words - teaching foreign languages, assessing and devising English tests, creating and solving brain teasers. But colour and design remain my all time passion - especially in the area of the abstract, geometrics, repeat patterns and the creation of illusion. Sizeable long-stitch tapestries (of my own design and others') ignited an obsession during my children's pre-school afternoon naps.
Somewhere between three years of art school, an admiration of Escher, Dali and the cubism of Picasso, I became inspired to experiment in search of my own brand of originality.
Travel, the elements, a fascination for the symbolism of astrology and New Age thinking excite my most recent fervour to "drop everything and draw"! This, in combination with a stubborn refusal to give up the mind of a child - which delights in revealing itself in simple, vibrant graphics - I'm now ready to share with the world. |
