Biography | |
I am a self-taught artist and have been drawing since I was a child. I am also not very good at following rules or ideas. So it wasnt very hard to develop my own style of painting. I have created art in various forms throughout my life including sculpture, murals and designing wearable art. I work primarily with acrylics and took art courses in college but never wanted to conform to how art should be but rather finding myself wanting to paint something from my soul to show the world. My subjects are mostly animals, dogs and cats in portraits, contemporary and modern images. My people are usually taken from my mind instead of a photo and I create abstracts and fantasy works which are now becoming popular as prints and have been sold to various coffee shops around the globe.
As a self-taught artist, I follow NO rules of art, but rather choose to create according to my own ideas. My paintings often contain bold, bright colors and convey portraits of animals at an attempt to capture their pure essence and character. I normally choose the colors based upon how I feel at that moment. When I decide to create, I am in another world and am so engulfed in what I am painting, nothing else seems to matter.
My primary goal is to reach a point of maturity in my pieces, a far out representation of my minds eye, another window into my soul that other people can look through. I also intend to use my upcoming art exhibitions as stepping stones towards a lifelong art career and will be making limited edition prints out of my most well known pieces.
ART is an ESCAPE. Art has the power to improve the quality of our lives and if you could look at something you really love each day then how wonderful it becomes to see tomorrow.
