| Biography | |
Lana Tyacke is an award winning visual artist and designer who is self taught and prolific. Lana has had numerous commissions and design projects, solo and group exhibitions.
Lana works from her home studio at Byrill Creek, Northern Rivers NSW.
Lana enthusiastically explores any medium presented;
limestone and sandstone carving, stone wall design, ferro cement, textured plaster walls, wall panels, moulding & casting with silicone rubber, painting abstract and the female form as well as edible landscape design
I began carving stone in 1999.
My first carving inspired me so much I knew I had found a passion.
I follow the lines that appear before me with every creative endeavour, allowing the medium and place to talk to me.
I participate as an observer, the audience of my own creations.
Creative expression is my way of life.
My Favourite commission job was a 2.1 x 1.5m part of a sandstone cliff for a lovely couple who I met during an exhibition at Kilcare NSW. They allowed me the creative freedom to transform the jack hammered sandstone area into a stunning entry to their home. The experience was exciting & fulfilling for us all.
It is always an honour to be invited into my clients surroundings to explore their vision, bounce ideas around and create magic together.
I enjoy collaborating with other artists, combining different mediums and skills. I find collective creative energy inspiring and rewarding, expansive for us all.
