| Biography | |
Lina Kogan was born in Kiev, Ukraine where she graduated from Visual Arts School. Lina has always strived to find balance between her passion for arts and interest in technology. In 2000 she obtained MS degree in Computer Science with specialization in Multimedia and Creative Technologies from University of Southern California. Lina enjoys a successful career as a Software Engineer working for a world leading aerospace company in Los Angeles. She pursued her interest in visual art and has studied ceramics and sculpture since 1996. She has exhibited in a number of national art shows and international juried exhibitions. In Los Angeles Linas work can be seen in Valley Institute of Visual Art (VIVA Gallery), Orlando Gallery and The Style Lounge.
Lina brings found objects from modern high-tech world into her clay and stone sculptures. Her latest creations are mixed media assemblages with elements of raku fired clay. Inspired by contemporary Dutch design, Calders mobiles, DaDa artists, surrealism, minimalism, eastern philosophies and the modern life, Lina Kogans art is a never ending search for harmony in the imperfection of objects. |
