Biography | |
I am a self taught artist, my medium is fabric, mainly silk. My imagery is derived from Trinidad, the West Indies where the annual carnival has been a major influence in my use of color.
I immigrated to the USA in 1988 and virtually abandoned making art but in 1999 I returned to it, to discover that in trying to fit into a the American way of life I had also abandoned a significant part of who I was. My work grounds me and reinforces that as human beings our similarities are greater than our differences.
