Mehdi was born in Fez , the cultural capital of Morocco in 1986. Mehdi went to the Fez Polytech (Institut supérieure des technologies appliquées et des beaux arts)  and got his Diploma in Architecture . He spent some time working on projects in and around Fez . It was the amazing contrast in the scenery of Morocco and North Africa which drew him to the field of Landscape artist. Mehdi claims that he is fascinated by the composition and colour that exists in nature , an art work which continues to constantly change . It is this dynamic art that he has adopted as his hall mark in painting .

Mehdi is studying in Ottawa and working towards a degree in Architecture in Canada. While studying in Ottawa , Mehdi has made his home in Gatineau with his first love and beautiful wife .
Mehdi has traveled to Malaysia last summer where he was over come by the sheer exuberance of the amazing colors . His favorite memories remain the sunset at the Blue Lagoon in Port Dickson , and Pangkor in Malaysia . In the short time that Mehdi has been in Canada , he has already seen the amazing scenery of Vancouver ,and the beauty of jasper park in Alberta, the high rise designs of Toronto / Mississauga , and the cultural ethos Montreal and Quebec City .

Mehdi feels that his sojourns and experience have and will continue to shape his art .  While nature remains his primary passion , Mehdi also works at capturing the form and shape of "still life ". His favourite medium remains oil on canvas , while he sometimes continue to explore with acrylic .

Mehdi 's work displays a positive image and is reflective of his positive outlook on life . He strongly feels that " art should brighten up a space !"
