About The Artist
Monica Caballero
Born in Cordoba, Argentina, Monica Caballero began her formal artistic training at the "Escuela de Arte Jose F. Alcorta". She studied with the Italian artist Elvio Sentieri. Hugo Bastidas. painter and sculptor Jean Kearn, Lee Hugues and V. Larko.
Monica's landscapes in oils have an atmospheric effect, expressing her deep love of the peaceful countryside. Loose brush strokes and bright colors help Monica capture the colors of the country. The subject of the art comes from the world around her. She enjoys and preserve nature and makes frequent painting trips along the East Coast, Caribbean and South America searching for new subjects to paint. A lover of the outdoors, Caballero often captures her subjects on film and sketches and then uses them as a springboard for her imagination, combining the elements of many photos, sketches and field studies as reference material to form her compositions
She has exhibited in numerous personal and group exhibitions in Argentina and the USA. Her works are included in the permanent collections of the "Museo de Bellas Artes Dr. Genaro Perez" Cordoba, Argentina. "Museo Municipal L.Enea Spillimbergo" Unquillo, Argentina. "The Paterson Museum" Paterson, New Jersey, and many private collections in Argentina, Uruguay and USA. |
