Biography | |
I've attended various art schools in the past,.. Pratt Institute 1&2, Parson school of design, Connecticut institute of art, New York city technical college, and Florida technical college. I graduated from Florida technical college as a professional CAD Drafter, and the only credentials I have to show for everything I've been through is a GED High School Diploma, an AAS Degree in Computer information science-computer drafting and design and allot of knowledge in Art, illustration, art & advertising, computer repair, and Design. I've been drawing since the age of 4 , completely self taught and never got discovered as a prodigy or a professional even though I was. Come on,.. you don't need to be Einstein to figure out that any kid who can draw the exact portrait of a person by the age of 10 and started drawing when he was 4 is a prodigy, please,..lets move on shall we. I've been illustrating for 30 some odd years now but never had enough faith to expose, exhibit, sell. and publish myself or any of my artwork, because of the competition out there to date, there's to many good artists in our day in age, what makes me think I'll make any money at all. I mean, I can't lie, I did sell my first the pieces of artwork in anime and comic book art for a mere $550.00 pay check from a t-shirt design company called changes when I was 20 years old, but to no avail, cause I never heard back from that customer ever again after that sale since it was suppose to be an ongoing freelance gig. I don't know why he never contacted me back,.. after saying I was real good. But anyways thats the story of my life as an artist a series of disappointments. I never had many jobs in illustration after that and also cause I've never exposed myself very much and at times I tell myself don't quit your day job. So many people tell me I'm an incredible illustrator and ask me why am I not making a good living at it since I'm so good at it, and when they say that,... I keep my mouth shut,.. cause they don't know what its like to be an artist and they don't know how competitive it is out there, Its not easy to be an artist in this day in age. As a result,... I don't bother telling them anything, for fear that I might get into a long story. Right now I'm working on an IMAGE COMICS comic book submission project which I will be submitting over to image comics for acceptance and employment. Its times like these I wish I had my own personal art agent, yeah,..thats another thing I don't have right now. Anyway its always been my dream to be a famous comic book artist like Todd Mcfarlane, Jim Lee and Stan Lee I consider them to be my idols and role models in the business and I've always wanted to exhibit my fine art illustration painting and making allot of money with my art,.. its always been a dream of mine to be a famous artist,. period. I'm 35 years old and I'm loosing hope fast,. but I still believe in my talent, my artwork and my love for commercial illustration art and not anyone will take that passion away from me,...cause it's the only reason why I'm still alive today, My love for the art form,....thank you. |
