Biography
Rachel Katt (Stapley) was born in Phoenix, Arizona during the late 70's. Her motivation for her art has come from growing up in the desert and from her grandmother whom was a well known artist in Soho, New York. As a child she was sent art materials and would draw abstract desert landscapes and her interpetation of desert life all day. When visiting her grandmother they would go to the MET and MOMA together and sketch pictures of the exhibits. She now feels the drive to continue making art now that she has finished college. She focuses on abstract art, often implementing her interpetation of the southwest United States into her paintings. Graduated with a Liberal Arts and Paralegal AA and a BA in Criminology, Law, and Society from the University of California, Irvine.
