Biography | |
Robert Kozoras work focuses on the New England scene, particularly the coastal areas. He includes dunes, marshes, waterways, small boats, and old buildings in his collections.
His work is realistic without being photographic. The compositional clarity and precision of his work causes them to appear dramatically simple in structure, but a closer inspection reveals a wealth of surface design and textures. He adds numerous glazes of varying hues and intensities to capture the essence, the atmosphere, and the light of his subject.
Kozora was formally trained at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania, his native state. He became acquainted with the New England scene during his time in the Air Force on Cape Cod, and settled in New England in 1959.
He has exhibited on all levels and has received numerous awards. His work is highly prized by the corporate scene. Clients include Pepsico, Eagle Brands, Dryvit, Washington Trust, Davis-Standard, and Hi-Tech Profiles. He is also highly prized by private collectors, nationally and internationally. His clients include some of the top 100 collectors of contemporary American art.
His work has also been exhibited in the West Wing of the White House in Washington, DC, and is now part of their permanent collection. |
