| Biography | |
A native of the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, his talents developed early. Self taught, he works in acrylics, oils, oil and soft pastels, and mixed media. A world traveler, his experiences are reflected in his many works. From the souks of North Africa, the balmy Caribbean, and the Southern African bush. In his many roles as Marine, Merchant Seaman, Soldier of Fortune, and War Correspondent, a sketch book and camera were his constant companions. His subject matter conveys life rich in color, texture, and adventure. From the thrill of a horse race, working boats of the Gulf Coast, to portraits that are alive with character. He has mastered his talents.
Currently traveling between Kentucky and the Gulf Coast gathering new images for future work, he winters in the Yucatan of Mexico where he spends his time painting and sport fishing.
An avid boater, he currently keeps a sailboat moored at St. Georges Cay, Belize, C.A. |
