My name is Tina Sutton. I am 31 years old, living with my 15 months old son and my husband in Northamptonshire England.
Born in Italy I moved to Germany and France before spending 7 years living in Iran and 10 years in Sweden. At the age of 23 i decided to move to England and have been living here ever since. I have been painting since I was 15 years old. Although I have no professional art qualifications; I have attended several courses over the past 15 years in oil colour painting, water colour painting and sketching.
My paintings are a reflection of my life, and my view of the world. Having been influenced by my Iranian parents and living in such a variety of different cultural environments, my paintings reflect East meets West and the merging of many different influences. I am very spiritual and recently have been drawn to Native American symbols, the influence of my studies of this culture are currently strongly represented in one of the series of paintings I am working on.
I love music and play the piano on a daily basis, the images this invokes also influences much of my work, obvious in some but contextual in others.
Strong, vibrant colours express my love for life and the warmth of the many different people I have met in the communities I have lived in. |
