Biography | |
The creative process for me is one that is both spontaneous and emotional. A lot of my work evolves onto the canvas through the transformation of creative energy. Each unpredictible brushstroke, is implemented with a focus on the struggle between good and evil. Symbolism and meaning are reflected in peaceful, yet, threathening environments with the presence of spiritual strength to endure.
The different styles and techniques of painting that I create, all contribute to a spontaneous game of construction. The puzzle begins when I prepare the canvas for oil paint. Sometimes I use a brush, palette knife, spraybottle, wooden spoon, or cloth to apply the paint.
The method of painting that I chose is derived from a natural instinct to express feelings and emotions rather than illustrating them.
It doesn't matter how the paint is applied, as long as the painting has meaning and something to say. When I begin a painting, I am not aware of what I am creating. It is only after I get acquainted with the painting process in each work, that I see what I have been about.
Not only does the painting express who I am, but it takes on a life of it's own. It let's me know when I have finished, and speaks it's name |
