I am a 53 years old artist from Belgium who lives near Tucson in Arizona.
Since 1988 I am making artworks. My inspiration mostly comes from the music we hear every day on the radio, cd albums, concerts, preferred bands or artists etc... and I try to create a drawing/painting around the theme of the song. I other cases I focus on the artist or group. I always try to give it an own original interpretion, a new look musically inspired. And it is very possible that other people might see something else in it. That's fine for me.
I followed art studies in Belgium (1976-1980) and had a few exhibitions there too, mostly in the nineties.
Until 2007 painting and drawing was something I did in my spare free time. I was a cargo employee for a big cargo expedition company but I gave that up to become a full time artist and went to Arizona in the USA where I live these days.
Way back in 1988 I started my artwork with only color pencils and pastel. Nowadays I use all kind of mixed media in my works like acrylic, gouache, ink, calligraphy pens, collage.
These last months I have been doing a lot of collages in the form of painted collages with acrylic paint or gouache.
I sold my artwork in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Belgium.
My artwork is known worldwide by people who have a certain musical connection and/or are interested in original artwork. Most people know me by my nickname "old76" and that is how my artwork is called now "Old76 Artwork".
Musically I mostly inspired by the music of Elton John and Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler but I'm open for any kind of music.
I found in sunny Arizona a nice place to stay and also my partner Suezq, the love of my life who is a truly inspiration in my artwork. I have a nice little studio here where I create all my artwork.

In 2008 I also created artwork for charity auctions and more particular for "Lunch Around the World" events to raise money for the Elton John Aids Foundation in Orlando, Boston and Melbourne. At this last occasion Elton john received an original old76 artwork during his concert. Elton himself has signed numerous artwork of me for fans.
