My life story has yet to be written so only time will tell. But what I can tell you is what has been written so far.
I was born on April 27, 1987 in a small town in Pennsylvania and was raised in the country, just miles outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (Made famous by the Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War). I was always a creative child and could often be found with a pencil and a piece of paper sketching random objects or trying to mock a cartoon. I spent many hours at an old typewriter concocting stories that only a childs mind could. In 2000 my family moved away from Gettysburg to an even more rural town. It was here that I seriously took up oil painting and photography, and completed four solid years of art study in high school. I displayed artwork and demonstrated oil painting for three years at the annual art show, and in my fourth year was a Featured Artist. I also showed my artwork at a local gallery in April of 2005. During this time I also honed my writing skills, working as Front Page Editor of the high school newspaper, contributing journalist and photographer to a local newspaper, and Editor-in-Chief of the Literary Magazine.
I firmly believe that my experiences growing up in a rural community has molded my views in to what they are today. I feel blessed having been able to see the changing beauty in nature throughout the seasons as well as the abstract beauty of cities such as New York City, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. Vincent Van Gogh said, "If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere." I believe that if you open your eyes, free your mind, and take a closer look, you will find that you are surrounded by beauty wherever you are, no matter who you are. |
