Biography
Educated on the island of Vinalhaven Maine (home to Robert Indiana) Amy Smith has assisted Aviva Rahmani, along with studying amongst other local artists. She has derived her style from artists in Portland and New York City. My intent is to show the viewer a recounting of certain dreamscapes I have encountered. I work from memory of such experiences and bring them into form through the use of heavily saturated paper and thick frames which represent a window into these worlds. Some of the pieces shown here are not framed but can be upon request.
