| Biography | |
I was born in Oklahoma in 1968.My family moved to Vancouver,Washington when I was a infant.We lived there until I was eight then we moved back to Oklahoma.I now reside in Texas.Born into a family of artists.My Mother had a extreme influence on my personal development as a artist.She is a tremendously gifted artist and does lifelike portrait paintings.My father has a very stylized way of doing Opaque acrylic paintings he is very driven to paint as I am.
I showed talent at a very young age and won my first competition at the age of eight in kindergarten when I won first place with a crayon drawing of a butterfly.I love to create artwork.Every competition entered since then I placed and did well.I was offered a full scholarship to Santa Fe New Mexico,but declined to take courses closer to home.I studied art at Seminole State College in Oklahoma.I raised my 2 children and just recently began painting full time.
I primarily paint Abstract paintings.My works have been compared to Degas.I tend to find studies from the beauty I see around me,but also drag ideas from dreams as I lay half awake in the morning.Sometimes I just start painting and see things emerge in the painting.I develop the vision and even I am surprised at the final creation.My paintings have been given life and I hope they all find homes I can only imagine.They have adorned my walls and all are a extension of me.I hope you truly enjoy them. |
