Biography | |
Marie C. Millay was born Kym Chanthu in a tiny village outside the great capital, Phnom Pen, of Cambodia in 1987. She lost her parents and grandmother in a rebellion that took place in her village causing her to loose half of her left foot. Taken to the orphanage by a soldier, Chanthu grew up with nightmares and trauma and a foot causing such severe infection that she almost died. Kym Chanthu was soon adopted by a Joanne Millay in the United States and soon after had her first operation. The operation saved her life and enable her to use her foot. She grew up to be a loving daughter to a single mother and an amazing sister to 12 brothers and sisters. As a student she was a straight A student and made Honors. During her later grammar years she began to paint and found the beauty in the lost of art. She now attends college to become an architecture in hopes that by building hospitals and orphanages she can save some children as she has been saved. |
