Caitlin Peters grew up in the outskirts of Chicago, drawing and painting all over things. Inspired and encouraged by her mother's creativity, she was instantly an artist.
She received her first paint set for Christmas when she was seven; she's been commissioning pieces ever since; painting murals on client's walls and furniture.
Caitlin graduated from Columbia College where she honed her digital art skills. Captivated by production, she thrived on filming movies and cinematography.
But for Caitlin, there was something consistently raw and emotional about creating more 'tangible' pieces. So, she kept on creating this time cutting, stitching, gluing and painting.
She has always been drawn to the exotic, the foreign and the enigma of humanity. She is also experimental with the combination of colors she uses in each composition. These qualities are almost always forefront subjects in her work.
For Caitlin, nothing is off limits, which is why her work rarely consists of only one medium. Her exploration as an artist is an ongoing process and she hopes to keep evolving. |
