| Biography | |
A native of Northern California, Claire has painted the rural landscape for decades. " The paintings not only reflect me, but a shared experience of living in California with all who embrace the unique landscape and terrain." Her simple but detailed canvases are indellibly inscribed with a heartfelt affection for the landscape, and endowed with a palette of richly saturated yet understated hues. And her delicate tres, winding roads and rolling hills demonstrate an extraordinary talent for communicating a "less is more" artistic vision wile paying particular attention to the light and shadows that appear at that special time of day when everything seems to glow.
Claire was educated in Art and Art History at UC Berkeley, and has shown all over the Bay Area including SF MOMA artist's gallery, Institute of Contemporary Art in San Jose, the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, and Hewlett Packard. |
