Artist Biography
It is hard to make a career decision when one is only seventeen and all she can think about are boys. So at the time a registered nursing career was a safe choice for Diane Jorstad. It wasnt until fifteen years later that Jorstad returned to her real love, art.
Since then Jorstads realistic oil and colored pencil artwork have won many awards in the regional area, have been in many shows and sold in a variety of shops. She has become a recognized and respected artist.
A few of the many galleries where Jorstad has sold artwork are Blackwood Gallery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Art 3 Gallery, Manchester, New Hampshire, Laurel Tree and Associated Artists of Butler County Gallery, Butler, Pennsylvania, and From the Heart, Somerset, Pennsylvania. Her artwork has been shown from Carmel, California (Cottage Gallery) to Boston, Massachusetts (Boston Corporate Art Consultancy) to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands ( Ninth Life Gallery). She has been hired by Butler Community College and Lenape Vocation Technical School to teach Adult Education Art Classes.
Jorstads many commission sales have enabled her to paint a variety of subject matter and use different mediums. She has painted portraits of children, adults, homes and pets for private clients. Her gallery art includes landscape, floral and still life artwork in oil. At the current time she is focusing on realistic still life art in oil.
