Elena Ringo was born in Moscow in the family of mathematicians.
She has shown her art talent at the very early age and at the age of five Russian artist Balashenko invited her to his art school.
At the age of ten she began studying in world famous Surikov Art School for exeptionally gifted children, located just opposite to Tretyakov Gallery.Later she studied at the Academy of Art and Architecture in Moscow. She also studied privately under the guidance of the former director of famous Tretyakov Gallery J.Korolev, who noticed and supported her talent. Another famous Russian artist Ilya Glazunov also highly appreciated her portraits.
During her studing at the Academy she won a painting competition.
Later she participated in a number of exhibitions in Moscow and her painting were purchased by the private collectors from all over the world. She also painted icons for the Russian Orthodox Church and received a special a award for her religious paintings in 1990. You can find many icons painted by Elena in the churches of Moscow and private collections.
She has been living in Helsinki since 1994 and had there two personal exhibitions. She has also been painting commissioned portraits and has been teaching.Elena Ringo is not only an interesting painter. She has diverse personality. She writes poems, novels, articles. In her twenties she was seriously interested in acrobatic and dance and also performed on the stage in 1986-1988 with an original number "The play with hoola-hoops"and played in the Mosfilm movie "I do not want to grow up" where she played a circus actress.She also worked as an interpreter, using her perfect knowledge of English language.
