Biography | |
The way I look at it, life is a story. Everyone, given the gift of existence, has a story to be told. That story is told in chapters that are defined by the parts of life.
During the summer of 2003 my father purchased a new digital camera. On our vacation to the Outer Banks I picked it up and started taking photographs. From then on I have been passionate about seeing things through the camera and capturing that one moment in life that, supposedly, is worth a thousand words total. The joyful reactions to photographs give my life a new meaning.
Seeing a captured moment in time go from the camera to a negative to a finished print gives me great satisfaction. The darkroom has become a place where I flee from the systematic high school life, and a place to just be myself. Photography has taught me to slow life down when it comes at me fast. Photography is where I escape from the burdens of life and express my emotions through a visual art, that everyone with a story can read my story as well. |
