Harry told me a visitor commented to him once, "Harry, with all the adventures you've had in your life, you should write a book!" Harry responded "I'm not a writer, I'm a painter. My life is in my drawings and my paintings."
His first studios were in Greenwich Village,and Manhattan. He received positive reviews from the New York Times. A member of Salons of America, he exhibited paintings in Rockerfeller Center After serving in WW!!,he worked with Margaret Mead in Museum of Natural History, and painted a large Indian mural spanning one wall (no longer on exhibit.) He painted in Germany, Oregon,NYC,, on Fire Island, ran an art studio on Block Island and painted landscapes in Mallorca off the coast of Spain for many years. Last twenty years spent working in Hyannis,Mass .Listed in Who's Who in American Artists.( A longer biography of the artist.can be e- mailed to you on request.) |
