Naomi Sampson was born in 1965, in a small town north of Israel called Nahariya. As is the custom, at the age of 18, she served in the IDF for 2 years as a weapon instructor.

She was raised in an artistic environment; her father a gifted painter, who in his spare time loved painting landscapes and portraits, would often apply his artistic skills to his work as a welder. Her mother, a sculptor, whose fascination in the human body, would be the basic feature of most of her sculpting she displayed. Even though Naomi was surrounded by art and artists, she had no interest in it until later in life, when tragedy would strike.

In 1996 her father passed away from cancer, she was left with his memories, and the art equipment he had left her. One day picking up the brush, she started to paint, what started out as filling up time, and a way to release the pain of loss, evolved to a hobby and a passion she could not stop. At the time she did not know, she had discovered her hidden talent, and soon found ways to express her emotions through her paintings.

Once she had found her calling, she enlisted in an art class, where she met Carol P. Surface an abstract painter, who took her under her wings and taught her for 2 years. There is no defining style in her paintings, they all vary, they are abstract and untamed, colorful and exploring, and this is just the beginning.
