I live with my husband of 25+ years and two dogs in Northwest Ohio, USA. My interests include image manipulation, photography, and gardening. I dabbled in art in high school (mainly watercolor and sketching) but an early marriage and family put my creative drive on hold for many years. It has since been rekindled with digital mediums, i.e. digital photography and photo manipulation. I have never had any formal instruction, and find that trial and error are the most effective learning tools for me. I've recently become physically challenged which limits my activity but allows me more time to develop my creativitys. My inspiration is my family, my faith, my surroundings and my pets.
I am a born again Christian and it is my hope to reflect that directly and indirectly in my work as well as my life in general. Though Ive been involved in digital image manipulation for some time, general photography is a rather recent avenue for me. Unlike most photographers though I think, I view each photograph as a blank canvas, with the original image captured my inspiration to develop it into what it should look like in my minds eye. Each photograph speaks to me in its own way, and frequently the end result bears little resemblance to the original. Each work is manipulated until it tells me its finished.
My hope is that my work stands out as having an original style, and that those that view it take away even a small portion of the inspiration that prompted me to create it. |
