Biography | |
Ralph Bush, a resident of Rockport, Massachusetts, creates visually stunning, luminous seascapes and landscapes on location throughout New England. Frequent visits to Monhegan Island provide inspiration for his prized marine watercolors and oils.
Mr. Bush began his artistic training with undergraduate studies at the New England School of Art in Boston. Continuing his education on the graduate level at the Massachusetts College of Art, he concentrated on
watercolor. He studied with well- respected artists such as Joseph Santoro, Charles Demotropolus, and Tom OHara. His studies also included work with watercolorist Claude Crone, A.W.S. and Don Stone, A.W.S.
Among the numerous prestigious awards Mr. Bush has won are Yankee Magazines Robb Sagendorph Memorial Award for Art, the Copley Societys John Singleton Copley Award for Excellence in Art, the New England Watercolor Societys Gold Medal, and many others. From 3000 entries his work The Old State House in Boston was chosen as one of the 100 winners in the First Annual Arts for the Parks competition and was exhibited in the Great Hall of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Mr. Bushs distinguished awards have earned him the designation of Copley Master of the Copley Society of Boston |
