| Biography | |
Shombit Sengupta is an artist and an international growth strategy consultant for top management. A French national today, Shombit was born in a poor refugee colony outside Kolkata in 1954. His education at the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata and in Paris at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and École Supérieure d'Arts Graphiques Penninghen was incomplete due to paucity of funds and insufficient time away from livelihood work.
He left India 34 years ago with just $8 in his pocket to discover art in Paris. He did that, but very significantly, Corporate Europe discovered him and bought into his concept of Emotional Surplus which bring topline and bottomline growth to corporations. In 1984 he founded his company called Shining in Paris and consulted with several hundred corporations worldwide, creating about 2000 brands across Europe, North and South America, Japan and India.
Shombit has held several art exhibitions in Europe and India. He continued to paint through the different stages of his life in Paris, first as a sweeper then to becoming a designer to strategy consultant for top management. These varied experiences gave him a deeper understanding of human sensitivity across all races. From this insight he mastered the unique art of understanding the subconscious mind which he translated to the fine art of business that has shown several global organizations the way to profitable and sustainable growth. |
