MONICA

The artist Monica (not to be confused with the singer Monica) is a self-taught American-born artist of German/Scotch-Irish descent.  She resides in sunny Las Colinas (Irving) in the Dallas area and is a full-time artist.  Her series "On the Edge" includes focus on capturing the mundane trivial events of our daily lives.  Her painting "On Hold" deals with the all too familiar frustration we all experience when attempting to talk to a real person on the phone.  She points out that being "on hold" on the phone, waiting in endless lines at grocery stores and banks, and a hundred other insignificant activities are what modern life actually consists of.  Yada Yada Yada is a painting that captures a trivial familiar colloquialism.  Monica is also noted for her half-abstract paintings in which only half the canvas is used for the painting, and also for her abstract, minimalist, and edge paintings.  For more artwork see her online gallery at
