Biography
What goes around, comes around. I started life with a prayer, paper, pencil and paint. My father owned his own printing business so scrap paper for drawing was always at my disposal. I studied drawing and painting with several art groups, associations and instructors in Wichita, Kansas. I started as an art major as Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Eventually I left college, got married and joined the Wichita Fire Department. Working in one of the busiest firehouses allowed me to see alot of fire.

My wife had severe mental problems and I left the fire department after seven years. I went into the printing business. My wife eventually took her life and I continued to raise my two teenage daughters. About the time they left home, nine years later, I remarried. I am now father to three daughters, I currently have eleven grandchildren

Eventually, I became a full-time professional clown “Rinky Dink, Humor Technician (clown)”. I have always said that I was a frustrated artist who painted his face rather than a canvas! As a producing clown, I have produced my own shows for thirty years. I have built my own props using my art background to create over forty different half-hour to one-hour shows. I also use the art of magic, mime and am a balloon artist.

In recent years, I worked as a volunteer firefighter for two small town fire departments. In 2005, I was injured while fighting a wildfire. I had surgery and nearly a year of physical therapy. My firefighting days were ended.

The yearning to get back to my roots of painting has tugged at me for several years. This website presents an opportunity to do just that.

Much of my artwork is extracted from my life experiences. As a firefighter, I have felt the heat. As a clown, I have smelled the greasepaint. As a printer, I have ink in my veins.

Oh yes, the prayer? In my youth, I prayed that my life might be much different than the average person. God has definitely answered my prayer!

Thank you for visiting my gallery. I hope you might find something you like.

An art movement founded in France in the last third of the 19th century. Impressionist artists sought to break up light into its component colors and render its ephemeral play on various objects. The artist's vision was intensely centered on light and the ways it transforms the visible world. This style of painting is characterized by short brush strokes of bright colors used to recreate visual impressions of the subject and to capture the light, climate and atmosphere of the subject at a specific moment in time. The chosen colors represent light which is broken down into its spectrum components and recombined by the eyes into another color when viewed at a distance (an optical mixture). The term was first used in 1874 by a journalist ridiculing a landscape by Monet called Impression - Sunrise.
