Alvaro Arrosamena in between installation and performance, material and ethereal.
Alvaro Arrosamena work process combines aspects of popular culture, traditions and transgressions. He integrates spiritual and sociopolitical subjects to analyze the problematic of identity, social integration, acceptation and assimilation in multiracial western society.
Social, religious and politic appliances, influences and taboos related to mass culture, the subversive, the minorities, subcultures, forbidden spirituality and the occult, analyzed into the historical context.
Arrosamena has presented several Art performances, Public performances and Rituals in various locations and spaces in Sweden, Thailand, Laos and Uruguay. The artist sees the performance like the nexus to all art disciplines and an active tool for the fluid communication between the magic moment of creation and individuals of the society.
The contents presented at the Studio are the result of the last yearÂ’s experiments in different areas including large scale paintings, collage, painted books, ritualistic objects, installations, performances, socially engaged practice, interactive projects, workshops and other multimedia.
