Richard studied life drawing whilst completing a BA at Cambridge University.

After graduating, he pursued a career in the advertising industry. 

He currently works for Charles and Maurice Saatchi.

His work plays on the margin between the accurate and the expressive.  He uses wandering lines, shimmering tone and more recently drips to capture the essence of the figure, without being slave to its form.
