Biography
I am a Colorado born native. I have been painting 35 years, I studied art all my life and formally for seven years. I taught art for many years at the side of my teacher and mentor Gerald V. Lilly. It has been my life long goal to understand and paint color as well asThomas Moran and Fredrich Church! Over my 35 years of training I have employed the"Science of Painting" a systematic approach to design and execution of a work of fine art! My style is Classical Realism with a small brush impressionistic approach using "broken color"! I have been in many art shows and will be taking my work on the road soon. My biggest achievment to date is to have sold a painting at Christies East " Bridal Veil Falls" in 1988, under the sponsership of Ronald D. Rotstein / Art Vest Services Ltd. In 2007 I was asked to join Gasav and Gurule Fine Art International Gallery in Scotsdale Arizona.

An art movement founded in France in the last third of the 19th century. Impressionist artists sought to break up light into its component colors and render its ephemeral play on various objects. The artist's vision was intensely centered on light and the ways it transforms the visible world. This style of painting is characterized by short brush strokes of bright colors used to recreate visual impressions of the subject and to capture the light, climate and atmosphere of the subject at a specific moment in time. The chosen colors represent light which is broken down into its spectrum components and recombined by the eyes into another color when viewed at a distance (an optical mixture). The term was first used in 1874 by a journalist ridiculing a landscape by Monet called Impression - Sunrise.
