Biography

John Dawson is a native of Colorado and has been showing and selling his art for the last twentyfive years. Over the years I have been several shows and sold my work in and around Colorado. I feel that my experience in commercial animation from 1977 t0 1984 has had a very large influence on my overall style. Other influences would include Red Grooms, Alaxander Calder, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollack, Keith Harring, Peter Max, Ed Larsen, Howard Finster, Ray Harryhausen, Chuck Jones Will Vinton and many others I like to try to do new and different things with my art work. An art movement of the early 20th century in which traditional adherence to realism and proportion was replaced by the artist's emotional connection to the subject. These paintings are often abstract, the subject matter distorted in color and form to emphasize and express the intense emotion of the artist.
