Biography
Born in Lithuania, I have been fascinated by the visual arts since childhood. When the opportunity arose, I proceeded with my professional education at Moscow renowned Academy of Cinematography. My focus for 12 years included cinematography, working with broadcasters throughout Europe, but photography remained my passion. During this time I became a member of Lithuanian Artist Association of Photography Arts and participated in many photo exhibitions throughout Europe.

Since 1992, I have worked independently, freelancing with a strict focus on photography; including journalism and artistic styles. In 2002, after moving to the USA, I continued to take assignments that would further my technique and enhance my experience. This was in the service of a variety of different agencies whose interests ranged from landscape and still life, to glamour and fine arts photography.

When imagining the wide spectrum of the visual arts, drawing or painting with the lens might appear as a process that does not require a unique talent, just knowledge of the mechanics. I do not see photography this way. A person behind the viewfinder is an artist, responsible not just for composition of color, light and shadows, but additionally, the whole picture beyond just film and camera. The photographer sets the frame and style to a story that is developing from the subject. It is the artists' responsibility to make this story convincing to any viewer or he fails at his task.
